Appetizer

Made for our Sunday night LifeGroup.

I love the simplicity of this recipe. Open up some cream cheese (I used reduced fat) and dump on a plate. Spread jalepeno jelly on top. Serve with crackers.

Turkish Delight

Have you read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe? Look at what I found at Marshalls!

I was ecstatic to see this. I called my mom immediately and then rushed over to her house to try it.

The verdict? So yummy. It was similar to those orange slice candies, only instead of the gritty sugar coating they were covered in a powdered sugar.

Not sure that this would be my choice when tempted by the White Witch, but still very good. I finished off the whole package by myself while doing my homework.

Now I am watching Julie and Julia and "doing homework". I am tired of reading about psychology when I would rather be cooking one of Julia Child's scrumptious recipes.

Sunburn

My Labor Day sunburn.

My sis-n-law and I had a great time swimming and catching up at her aunt's pool. I am sad that the summer is drawing to a close and that the days are getting shorter and cooler. Summer is my favorite season.

Heated seats

I don't know how I ever survived without heated seats. Lee's new truck has them and I am in love.

We went for a run this morning (yes, we were bad church skippers). Then Lee had to stop by work and pick something up, so I waited in the car with the heated seats. Seriously, I am in love with these seats. And it's not even winter yet.

After being bored in the car, we made a "quik" stop at QuikTrip for gas and drinks. Then it was on to Wal-Mart for some card shopping.

Today we are celebrating Lee's papa's birthday with a lunch at his aunt's. No plans after that, which is nice. I love free time.

What are you doing for the Labor Day holiday?

Food and Football

College football started today!  Well, Lee informs me that it "technically started Thursday", but as today was the first time it crossed my radar, then yes, it started today.

I am wearing what may become my lucky shirt.  We'll see if OU comes through- if so, then it can be my lucky shirt.  Otherwise it will just be my cute shirt.

For the record, I am both an OU and an OSU fan.

My brother came over tonight.  His college is having a job/ internship fair in a few weeks and we are working on his resume.  He graduated 11th in a class of 1080.  I'm impressed- I would hire him.  He is hoping for a summer internship (he's a petroleum engineering major.)  I hope he gets a chance to learn his future career in a new environment (maybe out of state?  I think he would like that.)
